In a monumental victory for the gay rights movement, the California Supreme Court overturned a voter-approved ban on gay marriage Thursday in a ruling that would allow same-sex couples in the nation’s biggest state to tie the knot.

Personally I think what a person does in their bedroom is their business. But I think the gays are getting a little to carried away with this marriage thing. As long as you live in a country that allows you to express yourself as gay leave it at that. Why get carried away with this marriage issue? If you feel committed to another man and want to stay with them for life, you don’t need any piece of paper to make it official.

Why does every in denial homo-phobe start their statements with “what a person does in the bedroom … blah blah blah”?
While you are correct in saying that we are very lucky in this country to be able to express ourselves freely, exclusion is still a very real, very prominent, and very trying issue for many different minority groups. “This Marriage Thing” as you so eloquently put it, is in fact a very big deal! The fight has never been over the physical piece of paper, it’s about the perception of validity that only heterosexual couples are currently afforded. In a perfect world, the love and commitment that two people share between themselves would be enough. However, we do not live in this utopia, and instead some people are consider (please excuse the cliche) more equal than others.
Personally, I think it’s fantastic that we are slowly moving on our way to becoming a more modern, accepting society.
