Robin Thicke feels like the world needs ‘Something Else’

Let’s see if that’s true there! Hoping to repeat the success of 2006’s “The Evolution of Robin Thicke,” Robin will release his third album, “Something Else,” on Sept. 9 via Star Trak/Interscope. The album’s first single, “Magic,” is currently No. 32 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

“Something Else” was produced entirely by Thicke and longtime collaborator Pro-Jay. And, unlike “Evolution,” it features no guest appearances. The album, as Thicke describes it, is a cross between “classic Philly, Motown and ’70s black disco meets the creativity of the Beatles and Bob Dylan.”

“I felt like a lot of stuff out there sounded the same. Plus, there are a lot of things going on in the world with the recession and the war. It made me feel like everybody really just needed something new, something else,” Thicke tells Billboard.com. “It’s time for a change and there is hope for everyone.”

Sounds like its dope – however I’m not so sure about his first single “Magic”. . I kinda feel like there’s no magic in that song guy. Trying ‘Something Else’.
