First came accident, then came divorce. . .

Morgan Freeman’s friend and business partner Bill Luckett confirms the divorce rumors are true, there is a divorce pending between Freeman and his wife of more than 20 years, Myrna Colley-Lee. Luckett also tells ET the couple has been separated for a while.

As most of you now know, late Sunday night the Morgan was in a car accident in Mississippi and airlifted to a hospital in Memphis. He is said to be doing well after undergoing surgery Monday to repair damage to his left arm and hand. He was apparently in the car with a female family friend, whom Bill says has nothing to do with the split.

The divorce surprise comes just days after the accident.
