Oprah to attend the DNC

August 13, 2008

Oprah Winfrey is planning to be front and center at Barack Obama‘s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO on Thursday, August 28.

Good friend Gayle King confirms that Oprah will be in the audience of 75,000 people at Mile High Stadium; however, Oprah has no plans to take the stage during the rally. King tells us, “Oprah has not been asked to introduce him, is not expecting to be asked to introduce him and I would doubt that she would want to introduce him. She thinks this is HIS moment. I know that she is planning to be there.”

King will be in Denver as well. She is taking her Oprah and Friends XM Radio show on the road and broadcasting LIVE from the DNC beginning Monday, August 25. She says, “I’ve been to Democratic conventions before, but I’ve never felt the way I’m feeling now about going to this convention. I think we have a chance to make history.”
