Actress Brittany Murphy, 32, has died.
A Cedars-Sinai Hospital spokesperson says the actress passed away at 10:04 on Sunday morning.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call from the home of Murphy’s husband, the Associated Press reports. The Fire Department spokesperson reported the 911 call was received at 8 a.m. on Sunday and that one person was brought to the hospital.
Furthermore, the Los Angeles Coroner’s office confirms that they have a preliminary death report, that came from a hospital, for a Caucasian female in her 30s with the name Brittany Murphy but cannot confirm it is the actress until they establish kinship.
Ashton Kutcher, who once dated the actress, tweeted the following message:
“2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon … see you on the other side kid.”
Murphy is best known for her roles in ‘Clueless,’ ‘Girl, Interrupted,’ and ‘8 Mile.’
Murphy married her husband, screenwriter Simon Monjack in May of 2007.
